Amsterdam synthwave collective Dorpsstraat 3 must be the most creepy and confusing bands around right now. Having seemingly emerged straight out of the eighties, this quintet merge fact and fiction in surprisingly danceable songs about death row and Dracula. There’s influences from Neue Deutsche Welle pioneers such as D.A.F. and Grauzone here, but Dorpsstraat 3 also reference Turkish rock legend Erkin Koray and the dusty record collection they stumbled upon in the mansion of an old priest.
