The venue has two main rooms with (live) music stages where loud music, dazzling lighting and visuals are present. There is seating available outside of the music area’s to relax and unwind.

We strongly recommend bringing earplugs to the event to protect your hearing. Earplugs are also available at the bar.

Within the location you’ll encounter multiple art installations in different areas which can consist of video, lights and sometimes scent.

Freaky Dancing takes place at WAS., part of the Werkspoorkathedraal at Tractieweg 41 in Utrecht. The event takes place on the ground floor of the building. The venue is almost completely accessible for wheelchairs, and there is an accessible toilet present. There are however heavy doors to the main area, which might be hard to open.
Trained service dogs are welcome, please let us know upfront if you want to bring one.

We want to provide an open-minded space, where our visitors, co-workers and artists feel at home. Your safety, freedom and enjoyment always comes first. That means we don’t tolerate any form of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or other forms of discrimination.

If you or any of your friends feel unsafe or experience any unwanted behaviour during Freaky Dancing, please notify our staff. Let us know, also if you’re not 100% sure. You can report to us at any time during the night: at the bar, entrance or security.

We will do anything we can to provide a safer space, and you can help us by keeping an eye on your surroundings. If anybody seems lost, dizzy or out of place, ask them if they feel alright and let our staff know. Let’s create a nice, safe environment together for everyone.

By bike from Utrecht CS
WAS. can be reached by (ov-)bike from Utrecht Central Station. The easiest way is to take the route via the Amsterdamsestraatweg. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes.

By bus/train
WAS. is accessible by public transport, either by train or by bus. The nearest station is Station Zuilen. From Utrecht Central Station you can take a train to Utrecht Zuilen which takes 3 minutes. From Utrecht Zuilen, it’s a 10-minute walk to WAS. You can also take bus 5 to Cartesiusweg, which leaves from platform C3 at the Jaarbeurszijde of Utrecht Central Station. This is a 20-minute ride to bus stop Sweder van Zuylenweg. From the bus stop it’s a 5-minute walk to WAS.

Both the walkway from Zuilen Station and Sweder van Zuylenweg are accessible for wheelchairs.

By car
When you travel to Freaky Dancing by car, navigate to Tractieweg 41, Utrecht. When you arrive, you see the entrance of the parking lot at the other side of the street.
