Chloé Pérès-Labourdette (Montbrison,1995) is an Utrecht based textile artist. After graduating from the HKU in 2018 she started researching techniques like embroidery, patchwork and sewing, and making a connection between craft and contemporary art. Her work serves as a vessel for the forgotten stories behind these crafts, which she finds while researching techniques. Stories that create fuel for discussion and conversation. Mixing up timelines that fascinate her to make a new visual language that fit her universe, often challenging the idea we have of feminine and masculine within textile.
For our second edition we’re pleased to work together with textile artist Chloé Pérès-Labourdette. To get to know her better we visited her studio and spoke about her process, techniques and what you can expect from her work at our event.
